A new national campaign has been launched by the NSPCC to help parents keep their children safe online. ‘Share Aware’ aims to encourage parents and carers to understand online safety and to ensure they are talking to their children about this issue. Information about the NSPCC campaign can be found at www.nspcc.org.uk/shareaware
West Sussex Safeguard Children Board (WSSCB) is supporting the campaign and has information and advice for parents and carers about this, as well as a range of other issues such as bullying and online abuse, on their website www.westsussexscb.org.uk. The WSSCB brings together organisations and agencies across West Sussex, including the County Council, Sussex Police, NHS Sussex, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and Surrey and Sussex Probation, to ensure there is a united approach to looking after the wellbeing of children in the county.
WSSCB website also has information about Operation Kite, a Sussex Police initiative to improve recognition and understanding of Child Sexual Exploitation.
