We are delighted to share the news that our Chalkhill centre, which operates at Chalkhill Hospital on the Princess Royal Hospital site, has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted Inspectors following their visit in December. Chalkhill Education Centre provides an education for children with mental health needs, who are either admitted to the hospital or who attend it as day patients.

The Ofsted report states that “Chalkhill continues to provide an exceptionally high standard of education… relationships between adults and pupils are exemplary” and “the curriculum is well planned and responsive to the changing needs of pupils. As a result, it has a very positive impact on pupils’ personal development and welfare”.

WSAPC Head Teacher Doug Thomas said “It is so satisfying to see our dedicated team get the recognition they so rightly deserve. Their expertise, professionalism and commitment is evident in every aspect of our hospital provision, and I am determined my team will continue to strive for excellent outcomes for all our pupils in Alternative Provision in West Sussex”.
